From the Desk of Wayne Schepens: Maintaining a PR Game Plan

For most, fall means football but for me, it’s all about field hockey! My two daughters play and my wife coaches. With any sport, a game plan is key. At LaunchTech, we feel the same way about brand planning. With a successful Black Hat behind us and clients, reporters and analysts back in the office post-vacation, we are now turning our attention to executing the PR themes and messages that will carry us through the remainder of the year.

Establishing and maintaining PR plans is critical to the success of our engagements. Where possible, we strive to have at least a quarter or two detailed in advance — of course, we also have to be agile to adjust as things change, just like in sports.

We love when our best-laid plans come to fruition, even through the normal twists and turns of product and company lifecycles.

Having a calendar and plan to drop into at the close of summer is refreshing and assures that our teams and clients don’t miss a beat. After all, October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and before we know it reporters drafting articles about hackable holidays.
