Where are you originally from?
I’m originally from central New Jersey—about an hour south of NYC and an hour north of Philadelphia. I haven’t lived there in ten years but still miss the pizza and bagels!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up, I was very interested in all animals and wanted to be a veterinarian. While I didn’t take that path, I still love animals and am looking forward to adopting a dog and a cat in the near future.
If you were invited to give a TED Talk, what would it be about?
If I were to give a TED Talk, I’d probably be most qualified to speak to what it’s like to be the youngest person in a very large family. I’m the youngest of five siblings, who are between 12-21 years older than me. I’m also the second youngest of 40 cousins—and that’s just my mom’s side of the family!
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, one of my favorite things to do is read. Not only is it relaxing and interesting, I also find myself learning new things or developing my writing skills when I read something new.
Where is your dream vacation destination?
Although it varies depending on when you ask me, right now I would have to say my dream vacation would be a trip to Thailand. The destination is unlike any other I’ve been to yet—and the combination of beautiful beaches, tuk-tuks and delicious street food sounds perfect.
What drew you to the field of PR and communications?
I was originally drawn to public relations when I studied Political Communications at George Washington University in D.C. It was there, through my major and internships, that I realized the critical function communication serves in society. Without adequate public relations, we would not be able to convey complicated concepts to the public at-large—and they would be worse off without that knowledge.
