LaunchTech Communications, an award-winning PR agency located in Baltimore’s Canton neighborhood, is seeking a motivated and organized public relations professional with at least 5 years of agency or corporate experience for the role of Account Director. LaunchTech specializes in emerging technology and cybersecurity; as such, you can expect to be interfacing with technical C-level executives, managing day-to-day activities of assigned accounts, and managing junior team members.

Ideal candidates will exhibit excellent writing skills, acute attention to detail, intuitive prioritization skills and ease with communicating with clients via email, phone and in-person. Individuals should thrive in a high-energy entrepreneurial environment, possess a strong work ethic and be self-motivated. What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the daily workflow of account activities, with future deliverables in mind; communication with the client, coordination account initiatives and status reports; plan meeting agendas
  • Run the show during client Status Calls; take the lead of running through the agenda and ensuring all follow up tasks are documented and delegated
  • Foster highly-collaborative, long-term client relationships; promote client retention
  • Responsible for developing written content for a wide range of client projects, including messaging and positioning; i.e. press releases, pitch materials, blogs, website copy, etc.
  • Review and advise social media posts scheduling and engagement activity
  • Support media and analyst relations
  • Develop detailed PR content calendars; ensure deadlines are met or exceeded
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members; collaborate with company leadership to nurture career development

Role Requirements:

  • 5 years or more of agency or corporate-environment experience in public relations or communications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; others will be considered in conjunction with relevant experience
  • Existing familiarity with technology and cybersecurity industries; foundational understanding of media and reporters in the technology and cybersecurity industries
  • Strong writing and copy editing abilities; demonstrated ability to adapt your writing style and tone of voice to different audiences; proficiency with AP Style
  • Outstanding client relations communications and service attitude and skills
  • Ability to approach pitching clients and stories in creative ways
  • Collaborating spirit; ability to work well with and coordinate the activities of 4-5 other LaunchTech accounts team members; ability to lead, mentor and inspire junior accounts team members
  • Proven experience earning relevant coverage for clients
  • Familiarity with creating content for major social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter
  • Proficiency with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive
  • Understanding that domestic travel may be required 2-3 times per year for lengths of up to 4 days at a time for significant client meetings or industry events
  • Ability to work on-site at our Baltimore, MD office
