Where are you originally from?
I’m from San Diego, California.
Who inspires you?
This may be cliché, but my father. I know everyone has an affinity for their parents as role models, and while that’s totally valid, I think that my dad’s story is particularly unique. His, and my parents’ story as a whole really, seems like it’s almost straight out of a John Mellancamp or Bruce Springsteen song, denim jackets, small towns and all.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A SeaWorld animal trainer.
If you had your own talk show, who would be the first three guests you’d like to interview?
Daniel Day-Lewis, Nelson Mandela and Pope Francis.
Where is your dream vacation destination?
Japan. I’ve always been really interested in visiting there. The culture, food and various climates I think are what make it so appealing. From visiting Tokyo to Kyoto, there are endless opportunities to immerse myself in a culture that is so different from my own and yet one that I think I share many values with.
Do you have a secret talent or a hobby?
Not a secret, but I would say my talent is swimming. I swam in high school and college, and still do occasionally. I competed at one of the highest levels of the sport which required a mix of talent and dedication.
What is a professional highlight for you?
Any time we achieve coverage for a client it’s a win, but when we’re able to take an industry-focused storyline and creatively position it so that it attracts interest from a top-tier publication, like The New York Times, it’s a proud moment for the whole team!
