Sara Knott

Sara Knott

Where are you originally from?

Culpeper, Virginia

Who inspires you?

My future self. My ambition and inspiration stems from the person I want myself to be whether that is a day from now or years in the future.

If you were invited to give a TED Talk, what would it be about?

I would either want to discuss the importance of developing your personal brand or the benefits of learning to effectively communicate.

What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

A few of my favorite activities involve going to concerts across all musical genres, maintaining an active lifestyle, testing out new recipes in the kitchen and watching college football and basketball (mainly Virginia Tech, Go Hokies!)

Do you have a secret talent or a hobby?

I wouldn’t go as far to call it a talent but I am known as the dancing queen in my friend groups so I guess you could say my secret hobby is cutting a rug on the dancefloor. The talent part of it is that I somehow still remember all of the choreographed dances I have been a part of.

What drew you to the field of PR and communications?

I was drawn to the field of PR because it allowed me to be a storyteller and own the narrative. I love the way PR challenges me creatively and allows me to connect with a larger audience.

What do you find most interesting about cybersecurity or technology?

Being immersed in the cybersecurity industry has definitely opened my eyes to some of the risks associated with my typical everyday activities that I used to never think twice about. There’s always something new occurring in the industry which keeps things fascinating!
