October is my favorite month of the year! My family goes all out for Halloween and National Cybersecurity Awareness Month is upon us. At LaunchTech we deal in the business of cyber horror on a daily basis. From the recent Checkm8 exploit, which takes advantage of vulnerabilities in start-up to gain full control over the device, to the DoorDash data breach that affected 4.9 million users, there is no shortage of scary happenings to illustrate the critical and continuing need for cybersecurity.

The ghouls and goblins are not going away! This month marks a great time for a push to educate the millions of people who connect to public wifi, use online banking applications and click potentially suspect links in email with little awareness or regard for the consequences. The breach hype we follow on a daily basis has not altered the general population’s online practices for the vast majority. For most, the access and efficiency offered by technology are far too valuable to be quelled by the possibility of a data breach.

This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, our team is doubling down to find creative ways to engage media, and subsequently, their readers, to provide insights on how to continue leveraging the amazing apps and access while still protecting their personal data for the haunting nature of online ghosts and demons.
