ACCOUNT DIRECTOR (Baltimore, MD)

About the Role

The Account Director at LaunchTech manages client relationships and ensures goals are met. This role will continuously look for new and different ways to bring value to the client and set challenging goals for themselves and the team. This person will serve as a mentor, manager and lead example to all on client management, quality assurance, staff development and strategic guidance. They will  have advanced media relations skills and a strong understanding of technology issues and trends.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Client Relations:  Responsible for all account activities to include client service, retention, strategic material and results. Ensure accounts are being served effectively and with purpose. Creation and management of strategic client PR plans. Drive the agenda during external client calls and meetings. 
  • Management:  Support Account Coordinators & Account Managers in their development of goals, deliver annual reviews and conduct bi-monthly check ins. Foster and contribute to a collaborative and team-first environment within each client account team.
  • Content Development: Ability to write and ensure quality on all strategic account materials, including press releases, byline articles, case studies, messaging exercises, PR plans, etc. 
  • Media Relations: Direct and oversee media relations strategy across accounts. Create media opportunities; maintain and cultivate a network of reporters, influencers, analysts, etc. Use creativity and storytelling to strengthen proactive media outreach and drive results. Meet coverage goals.  Provide impactful feedback to thought leaders following interviews to strengthen their performance.
  • Analyst Relations: Direct and oversee analyst relations and management strategy across accounts. Develop and give feedback on analyst decks. Provide impactful feedback to clients to strengthen their analyst presentation.
  • Social Media: Direct and oversee social media strategy and implementation to meet expected growth goals. 
  • Speaking and Awards: Build compelling speaking submissions, including panels with industry experts. Provide impactful advice to clients regarding the value of different awards programs and events.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in related field (Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism)
  • Experience 3-5 years in public relations
  • Expert on the IT industry and client businesses/technologies

About the Role

The Account Manager at LaunchTech manages day-to-day activities of assigned accounts, and seeks new and different ways to deliver value to the client. This role will continue to refine advanced media/analyst relations skills and will evolve into a leader and mentor within the company. This person will have a good understanding of technology issues and trends. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Client Relations: Manage at least one account with little oversight from senior staff, including providing day-to-day counsel to the client. Stay on top of trends and issues that might impact clients and proactively address them. Contribute meaningful input both strategically and tactically to clients; think a few steps ahead of the client and beyond what they have asked of us. 
  • Content Development: Able to write a full range of documents with minor editing to support senior staff, including press releases, briefing materials, media pitches, blogs, and others. Edit and provide direction on writing work of other team members. Contribute to writing and development of higher-level strategic documents, byline articles, including messaging platforms and PR plans.
  • Media Relations: Create media opportunities for clients, possess strong media relations skills and solid reporter relationships. Craft proactive pitches that drive results and handle reactive inquiries. Able to manage interviews with little oversight. Uses technical knowledge to become a storyteller.
  • Analyst Relations: Manage and implement outreach to industry analysts, including scheduling of analyst briefings and prep work for sessions between analyst and client.
  • Social Media: Provide strategic oversight of social media planning and implementation for clients; develop compelling social media content; populate that content within social media channels.

About the Role

The Account Coordinator at LaunchTech plays a key role in providing support to the client teams. Responsibilities will focus on media/analyst outreach, content creation and tactical account support.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Media relations: Research and recommend editorial opportunities, reporters, publications that align with a client’s media strategy. Design creative media pitches that will grab a reporter’s attention. Compile media lists for pitching and draft briefing sheets in advance of interviews. 
  • Media monitoring: Scan for client media coverage and compile coverage reports for clients.
  • Analyst relations: Research and identify analysts that align with client’s technology and market. Draft briefing sheets in advance of analyst calls. Disseminate notes to client teams following briefings.
  • Content development: Draft press releases and blogs on behalf of clients. Conduct research to ensure that content is technically correct.
  • Social media: Conduct research on, and draft content for client social media platforms
  • Speaking and awards: Create and update yearly calendars with speaking and awards opportunities. Draft awards submissions. Manage awards submission process on behalf of client company or product.
  • Account: Support the account team by maintaining an up-to-date report of all account activities and projects. Compile metrics reports using Cision and PowerPoint.
